Why should I apply?
You should apply if you’re excited by the talent profile of a CS. If you read the statements below and think “That’s me!”
- You create more work for the organization, you love finding business issues our consultants can work on
- You want to lead opportunities from finding them, to contracting them, to leading them to growth
- You think in terms of performance and scale to drive organic growth
- You could sell anything, but you care about what you sell. You’re selling Tegrita into organizations that need us
- You are a public face of Tegrita and represent our account teams to clients
- You love being a strategic advisor who creates success by designing solutions to business problems our team can deliver on
- You’re a ‘sales consultant’ who uses creativity to lead engagements
What does a CS do?
The first 1-2 months will be intensive training on Tegrita, our ways of working, the services we offer, and our current clients. Starting no later than month 3, the CS will join existing accounts and begin driving new business with our current partners. By month 4, we expect to see expansion opportunities being created, deals scoped, and new contacts identified. As early as your 4th to 5th month we would see additional engagements entering contracting and the CS supporting annual account planning and renewals.
Day-to-day you’ll:
- Identify additional contacts and new divisions that will grow existing client engagements
- Send ideas to those contacts using our pipeline building process
- Identify, scope, close and manage opportunities while ensuring clients’ business outcomes are met
- Work closely with team members, clients and decision makers to design and lead successful and profitable projects and accounts
- Drive work velocity, ensuring billable time is done according to monthly forecasts
- Stay active in industry trends and client needs to develop and deliver new strategic services
- Monitor services delivery to cultivate client relationships and ensure service levels are maintained to secure repeat client engagements
What does a CS earn?
Our compensation approach is different from the OTE model currently dominating revenue and growth teams. We offer a livable base wage as well as a flat 5%+ commission with no cap on earnings. The expectation for this role is to add a minimum of US$500K in expansion revenue each year - hitting this goal will add $25,000 in commission alone to compensation. If the actual sales are double, so is the commission.
We are organized on a 5 level matrix, this CS position is open to Level 2 or Level 3. Throughout our hiring process we will assess level of experience and demonstrated track record to determine level.
Minimum starting salary for Level 2 is $70,000 annually.
What are we looking for in a CS?
We don’t hire arbitrarily based on degrees or number of years of experience. We believe in hiring for talent and we know that experiences are transferable. For CS, we are looking for:
- someone living and authorized to work in the United States and/or Canada
- experience in consulting on client teams in strategy, business development, and/or marketing/revenue/sales
- past responsibility and success for closing business. i.e. getting contracts signed by clients
How do we hire?
We know it’s tough for candidates right now and do our best to balance what we need to identify people who will be successful at Tegrita and what we are asking for candidates. It’s not about jumping through hoops e.g. whether or not you submit a cover letter doesn’t impact your ability to do this job, so it won’t impact your success in getting hired.
We have a transparent and consistent hiring process based on a philosophy of hiring for the talents that will make it possible for our new team member to get to do what they do best, every day.
We identify these talents through our 5-step hiring process, we notify candidates if we are declining at every stage; we won’t ask you to continue to put in effort when we’ve decided.
- Screener - 2-3 min survey that helps us identify any one who could not possibly be successful in this role, whose talents are too far from who would thrive as a CS. It is not a reflection of you, it is a tool to save you time working towards a job you’d probably hate.
- Scenario - 1-2 hours in total across a written and video submission exercise, followed by a live Zoom discussion with a member of Tegrita’s Exec team about your submission. The scenario is designed to show us how you’d approach the kinds of things you’d be doing every day in this role and to give you a real taste of what part of your days would entail as a CS. We never use the work submitted for commercial purposes and we do our best to design the scenario to be unusable to us outside of hiring.
- Structured Interview - 30-45 minute phone interview with a 3rd party partner who's an expert in interviewing to uncover talents at work. There is nothing to prepare, this interview helps us understand how you think. The structured interview focuses on identifying the core traits and ways of thinking that make for a successful Tegritan in general and for your specific role.
- Executive Team Interview - 30-45 minute video call. On this video interview you will meet our Executive team who will ask you some questions and give you a chance to ask any questions you have.
- Peer Interview - On this final 30-45 minute video call you'll connect with another three people from the team who you'd be working with regularly. You’ll have the opportunity to assess if these are people you’d want to work with and hear about Tegrita from someone who isn’t in leadership.
